Experimental Archaeology

The objective is to provide experimentally relevant biomarkers to identify the organic materials and the transformation processes used for the production/consumption of alimentary, medicinal, cosmetic and perfumed products. The experiments will focus on the materials that may have been used in the Mediterranean and Western European areas in the categories of (1) oils, (2) resins, pitches and tars, (3) fermented beverages, (4) aromatic plants, (5) dairy products.
